Ask Jeanne Marie Wolfe what medium she likes best and she will say,
"All of them!" Indeed, Jeanne loves painting
on any surface: watercolor paper, canvas, bamboo,
gourds, wood, tile, stucco or glass. She is also a
graphic artist, designing for clients on her Macintosh
G3 using her scanner and desktop publishing skills.
Asked her favorite color,
Jeanne will say, "Rainbow!" Color, she feels,
is her artistic strength. Jeanne loves the juxtaposition
of warm and cool hues, vibrant and subtle tones. She
likes contrast. "I get a thrill watching the paints
mingle together on the surface of whatever I'm
painting."
Born in Upstate New York,
Jeanne received her BA in English/Fine Arts at Syracuse
University. She earned an MA in Education at SUNY,
Genesea and taught school for four years in New York and
Massachusetts.
After her four children
were born, Jeanne became a stay-at-home Mom. It was then
that Jeanne began her art classes and subsequent career.
Her adult children love to hear about her successes.
"Clients come to me
with a variety of projects. In the past few months, I've
custom woodburned and painted several gourds, designed a
variety of logos for other entrepreneurial people,
helped a poet with typography, created Enlightenment
Cards, designed an online art gallery, and been asked to
paint a statue of an alien."
Jeanne teaches private
art lessons in her community and is a member of the
Florida Watercolor Society.
Her Art:
A variety of subjects in Water Media, both
abstract and real, painted in a unique style focusing on color and light.
