Statement
I am an incest survivor and through therapy, I have learned to work out those nightmares. My therapist suggested that I start drawing and I have not stopped since. Healing has come to me through colors. I evolved froom pencil to pastels and have now happily found my medium. The way the colors move around with pastels gives this self-taught artist happy freedom of expression. The bright colors that I use in my art attracts people and through talking with them about my art, I feel so grounded to God and the Universe. By feeling so connected to God and others, I believe that I have become a stronger, softer, wiser, more compassionate, and spiritually centered woman.
Also, I have learned an important lesson in therapy and in art. I have learned that we are all here to celebrate life. Through pastels, I have learned to feel my feelings and put them down on paper. If one other person in this universe understands what I have tried to communicate then I have fulfilled my purpose. And in the meantime, I am having big fun! I so enjoy communicating with others through my art and pastels is that bridge for us to connect.
I have a saying that I have used for years, which is
"I CAN'T CHANGE THE WORLD, BUT I CAN CHANGE MY WORLD".
ONE PASTEL AT A TIME.
Thank you for allowing me to share my work with you.
