Bio & Statement
The themes of my oil/construction paintings are of visions and realizations expressed through personal mythological images. This personal mythology takes shape in my psyche as expressions of the poetry of my soul.
In many of my paintings I explore the relationship between a woman's psyche, her aspects of being, symbolized as dancer, protector, explorer in connection to universal rhythms and laws of being and becoming.
These mytho-poetic images are expressed as reliefs. They are not "pictures of" the states of the psyche, instead these constructions exist as icons that partake of our reality intruding their reality in ours.
The construction reliefs express the dynamic rhythm of the psyche in forms that churn, undulate, interlock and leap from their center. The colors used suggest states of being that are built with pattern that reinforces the abstract rhythms and forms.
