Bio & Statement
Bobbee Lee Camp is a freelance artist from the Southern
Illinois/St. Louis metro area and now resides in
Zephyrhills, Florida. She studied art and photography,
as well as scenic design at Southern Illinois
University, Edwardsville and worked with the scenic
artists at the St. Louis Metropolitan Opera as an
assistant. While in military service, Bobbee Lee was
afforded the opportunity to work with Japanese silk
screen artists and master model makers in Okinawa.
For nearly 25 years she has worked with various media,
focusing on watercolor, pen & ink, and graphic
design with occasional wood work thrown in for tactile
pleasure. Besides her freelance work, she earned money
for college by working in silk screening and photography
jobs. She also was the Art Director of Plus Magazine, a
local entertainment publication in St. Louis, Missouri.
Over the past decade she has added computer graphics to
her design work abilities.
Bobbee Lee is primarily
known for her first love, watercolors, having displayed
her work in the St. Louis and the Tampa Bay areas. While
an occasional abstract or still life is not out of the
question, she is better known for her hauntingly
peaceful landscapes. Bobbee Lee has won several awards
for her watercolor work and has been notably recognized
by the Gateway East Artist Guild and the Lambda Art
Group.
